Loess Hills Overlook

This is a pastel painting that won 1st Place in a Regional Art Competition. It shows my husband and my son enjoying the view of the Loess Hills in Western Iowa. I wanted to show the wide open spaces and view that is getting harder and harder to find. It was a very hazy late summer day. The original is soft pastels on sanded pastel paper.
