Loess Hills Overlook
12"
x 31"
This is pastel landscape showing my husband and son overlooking the Loess Hills area in Western Iowa. It won a 1st place award in a regional art contest. It is becoming a hard to find commodity in our world, to find such wide open and untouched areas. It was late summer, and when I saw this place I just wanted to walk out into it as far as I could go. It was very peaceful and much like our ancestors first saw this land.

Abandoned
14"
x 17"
This is a landscape of an abandoned barn in Western Iowa. It was to be torn down for highway widening so I wanted to put it down in a painting. There was a time when that old barn was someone's "dream". It is part of a series I started working on called Forgotten Dreams. What was once someone's dream is now cast off and forgotten.

Jesus Laments
10"
x 8"
This is a pencil/charcoal drawing of Jesus lamenting (crying) over our sins. I created it during Lent that year. In an effort to show the stark reality of his sacrifice I left it all white around him to signify he was surrounded by God and it shows great contrast which indicates the difference between his holiness and the world's darkness. It is available in reproduction form for $19.99. Contact me for more information at this time.
